The Owner's Goal

The owners were preparing for longer periods of Caribbean cruising and wanted to reduce their dependence on marinas and shoreside water supplies.

Their existing freshwater capacity was sufficient for short passages, but regular refilling limited how long they could comfortably remain at anchor. They wanted a reliable system that would be straightforward to operate, economical to maintain and suitable for the available installation space aboard. Their main objectives were to achieve:

The Challenges

The watermaker needed to integrate with the yacht’s existing freshwater tanks and pipework while maintaining a clear and practical system layout.

The yacht had limited machinery-space access, so the system components needed to be positioned carefully without restricting future inspection and servicing.

Our Solution

After reviewing the owners’ expected water use, cruising plans and available installation areas, we recommended a Rainman watermaker suited to the yacht’s requirements.

The installation was planned around accessibility, ventilation and future maintenance. We coordinated the intake, filtration, high-pressure components, product-water connection and system controls to create a clean and dependable installation.

The complete system was tested and commissioned before handover, and the owners were shown how to operate, flush and maintain it correctly.
